These cables are mostly used for automation and instrumentation cabling, especially for measurement signal transmission, suitable for outdoor laying and laying in ground. In measuring and control circuits of industrial installations for transfer of analogue digital data up to 10 kHz. Can be installed inside the buildings. There is a blue outer sheath version suitable for application in intrinsically safe circuits. The RD-Y(ST)Y instrumentation cables are not suitable as power installation cables, but are suitable for Maxi-Termi-Point connections.
The RD-Y(ST)Y instrumentation cables are made with red copper class 2 conductors, insulation of PE or PVC, the conductors are twisted in pairs, there is an electrostatic screen of plastic and aluminum tape, and finally a PVC outer sheath. The nominal voltage is 300/500V. It’s Flame retardant according to IEC 60332-1-2. There is also available the SWA version wich included a steel wire armored as a mechanical protection. The cables are CPR Eca. Other higher classifications can be provided on demand.
